Today doesn't feel much like Easter without much family here in Korea. However, we do have each other! So, this morning Ethan made a lovely Easter breakfast of strawberry pancakes, and we had a great discussion of life and the people we are so thankful for (chances are you might be one of them!) Today is rainy and cold, so it's been a quiet day. Ethan did make it out to his weekly soccer game, and he should be returning shortly.

Yesterday we had a great day trip to a nearby city called Mokpo. We set out to go to the beach, but it turns out the "beach" in our Lonely Planet guide book, is actually a small corner of sand thats maybe 50 feet across! Hahaha! We knew we might be in for trouble when our taxi driver didn't know how to get to the beach! We ended up having a delicious lunch at a restaurant on the sea. Then, we had a great hike on some rocky mountains we saw just up from the "beach." It was a bit rainy, but that didn't stop us. We felt like we were really in nature, until we reached a peak, and turned a corner to look down on a view of the city of Mokpo. It was unique because the view to one side was beautiful islands and lovely water then when you turn around it was a mosaic of multi-colored rooftops and throughout there were rocky mountains and cliffs. We spotted a sculpture garden from up above, so when we finished our hike, we found it. It was very impressive and a good grand finale to a great day by the sea.Today I discovered three awesome websites that will probably be of interest of you, especially as you all are in the good spirit of Easter. All three help you donate money to good causes for free.
www.helpuu.com this is a search engine powered by google that you can use just like google, but when you use it the advertisers on it give money to a variety of non-profit organizations like The Red Cross and Feed the Children. If you set it as your hompage even more money is donated.
http://www.freerice.com/index.php This website is entertaining and helpful. It's a vocabulary quiz, and every time you get a right answer the sponsors of the website donate 20 grains of rice to UNICEF. As you play, you watch the rice pile build up. It's a little addicting.
http://www.freeflour.com/donation.aspx This one is similar, but it's a geography quiz, and each right answer helps you give a spoonful of flour.
