Last Thursday was Teachers' Day. Little did we know, but it's quite a big deal in Korea, especially for real school teachers. We are "academy" teachers, but nonetheless...I think we made it out pretty well. Roses are not a complete gift in Korea until they are thoroughly decorated in a plastic tube, and they more resemble magic wands than roses...I got FOUR! I also got some other goodies including a set of skin renewing facemasks from my most terrible student...(maybe he's not so terrible), some hair accessories, and a couple sweet notes.
Ethan might have made out a little better than me, with the ultimate score....new summer-weight pajamas with "Yale" embroidered on the pocket. He also got a cake, an entire tin of vitamin C powder, a bottle of "Emotion" colone, a cup of coffee, and a darling love letter from a favorite student. Ethan is shown here in his new PJ's the next morning. Posing with his Teachers' Day gifts.
