This is Ethan here again. Sorry to all of you that struggled through the last entry I wrote it really fast so I did not spend the quality time that I normally do editing my blogs. Once again I do apologies for all of those mistakes that do not get caught in the process.
Well it is Wednesday and it is the middle of the week that some like to call "hump day." Well that boy that went ape crazy on me was really cool about the ordeal and on Monday it was no big deal. Yes, I am at work and have finished all of the things that needed to be done before my day and once again find myself with time to kill. If you are thinking about teaching abroad make sure you have all the details ironed out and not leave things to chance. We thought we did and we are working more than we thought. Well in is not too bad but some days I find myself with a lot of down time and I would rather be somewhere else but I am glad I have this computer that I can fall back on.
This morning our futon came and it is pretty cool. It is nice to have a piece of furniture to sit on instead of chairs from the table or on the floor. Are apartment has been really cold because of drafty windows and our heat not working, so this morning we had someone come and look at the heating. Most Korean houses have heated floors and that is what heats up the houses so we have the same system. Well our apartment is not an ordinary apartment, it is an apartment/office building. Offictel is the name, so our heating only turns on three times a day for one hour increments. So we will see how much that works but our directors are buying us a space heater just in case it is still cold. I know what you are thinking JR(Dad), yes I am going to look into buying some plastic to put on the smaller windows to cut down on the draft.
Last weekend Maria and I had a good time. On Saturday Maria and I rode downtown together because she had her Korean class and I wanted to go and see a movie. So I was not sure what to see but I got there right at 10:30 and Beowulf was starting at that time so I decided to go for it. I knew about the story from literature classes in school so I went into the movie with a little knowledge. Overall with little expectations I would give it *** (that is three stars out of five) it is a movie that you could wait and see at home but it is for a more mature audience. After the movie we meet up and had sushi at the American Sushi restaurant again because I had been craving it all week. We stuffed ourselves full of raw fish and it was wonderful.
(Side note) One of my students just came in a gave me a fried piece of bread cover with sugar. Sometimes they bring in treats for us, it is pretty sweet.
After a belly full of raw fish, we thought it would be good to walk it off so we went to check out some shoes for Maria, keen's to be specific. We looked at them and they are all so expensive so I thought it might be better to see if she could go online a get a pair for cheaper. She is still in the process.
My bus goes by this temple looking museum and I always want to check it out but I am always on the way to work so I decide it was time to go and explore the museum. It turned out to be pretty neat, not quite what I had expected but it had some good information about the history of Korea along with artifacts. Behind the main museum was another building, it turned out to be the kids museum which I thought it was more fun than the regular one. After that, we played in the leaves. Check out the pictures. It was a good weekend and a restful one. I played soccer on Sunday and Maria studied and went shopping. It was a very cold and windy day but it was good to get out and run around. Things are good, and this weekend we are going to Seoul for training so hopefully that will be nice to see some different scenery.
Sports Update: Congratulations to Jimmie Rollins for wining the NL MVP award it seemed like it was time to pay him his dues. He has been essential for the Phillies in there wining. I am ready for the big game between Kansas and Missouri which should determine who is going to play for the national champ, we will see. I hope that Kansas runs the table that would be great to see but if they have to play LSU you all know that is going to be a tough task. Well, Loyd Carr has announced his retirement so we will see who fills up his big shoes in the big house. College Basketball, is it really time for that to get rollin. Well I hope you all have your station tuned in to the Eagles vs. Patriots game, it is going to give the Pats there first loss of the season. The Eagles are going back on the map baby. Well the thing that I am going to miss the most about not being home, is the backyard turkey bowl. It won't be the same not being able to walk after a brutal game, hope no one gets hurt to bad. Well from across the world. Ethan out! P.S. Happy Thanksgiving to all and all a good night!

Wow, Ethan! Those were the best photos yet. What a beautiful place! You're really having a lot of opportunity to hone your photographer's skills. I loved the photos of the kids. I didn't see the one of you and Maria tossing the leaves, though. Was it in there? Glad things are better at school. Maybe you taught the boy that you won't put up with his misbehaviour. Sometimes you just have to do that. And, I taught a lot of years and no one ever brought me fried bread! I'm going to the grocery store in a minute, and will get things together for Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow. We'll miss you and Maria, and I hope you have a great day, even though it won't be a traditional American thanksgiving, I hope it will be fun just the same. We are so thankful that you and Maria are together and happy, and having a wonderful, if chilly, experience that will have a positive influence on you always. We love you! Betty/aka Mom
