Well, it is Tuesday night and another day at work completed. I had another one of those things that I can now check off of my list of things to do/eat. My director brought in pigs feet for kate and I to eat. I have to say the ramen I had for lunch didn't fill me up so I was a little hungry anyway. But pigs feet I was not too sure about, but my director is not too adventuous with her endevors so I knew it could not be that bad. It was pretty good. It was sliced so not like eating right off the foot. They said it was more like the leg but still considered the foot. We wrapped it up in lettuce and put garlic, peppers, cucmbers, carrots, little shrimp, and a red sauce. It was pretty good, and it tasted like ham. So I don't know if eating pigs feet was on the list but I can check it now.
Maria and I had a lovely weekend, consisting of soccer, hiking, and bathing. On Saturday I had a charity tournement for a girls orfanage that my team put together which was alot of fun. There were five teams so we played four thirty-minute games. I was very sore after that to say the least. Whit wanted to go to the public baths after the game so I said sounds like an experience. It was Whit and my first time but we went with Henry a Englishmen who had been to one before. So I called Maria who was shopping with the girls.(Lindsay, Catie) So we went to one that was in a department store on the seventh floor. After a little confusion we figured out where to go. So once we went in where we were supposed to go we saw alot of naked korean men. So we went with the culture and we got naked. This was a little different but growing up with four brothers was a lot of nakedness it was not that akward. It was really nice, they had six different baths that were different tempuratures. the hottest being 108 and the coldest about 64. We went in both extremes. My favorite being the one with very powerful jets coming out of the wall. They also had two saunas, one was wet and the other dry. There were two areas where you could get your back scrubbled by your neighbor. Then they had a wall with showers. It was perfect after a long day playing soccer. The best part is that it was only five dollars. Crazy, I know.
After the spa Whit and I went and had a beer and to wait for the ladies for dinner. I did not realize but after telling Maria that I was going to the spa she was jellous so she went with her girls. She had the same great experience that I had, plus talking to alot of teenage girls while being in the spa. Once Maria and Lindsay met up with us we went to an American Sushi Resturant. Yes I said American isn't that funny? I thought it was Japanese but I guess we Americans do change things around a little to fit our likings. To say the least I felt like I was at Green Tea in Asheville eating sushi. I was wonderful and reasonablly priced. It was a splended day for the two of us.
Sunday, still feeling a little sore from soccer Maria and I wanted to go and find a futon for the apartment, so when you come you'll have a place to stay. Sunday was not the best day to go shopping because some of the places were closed. We did not get one but we found one in a catolog but we wanted to look around a little more before we made the big decision. After that we went hiking up to the Mountain, but close to the top there was a traffic jam and we came to a stand still. So we decided to hop of the bus and walk the rest of the way. On the way up we found a trail that jetted off to the side so we took it. It led us down to this wonderful creek and Maria and I had a great time. Check out the pictures they speaks for themselves. The video too. We had a lovely dinner on the Mt and then we took a very crowded bus down.(video)
Monday was a typical monday and Tuesday was better, it went by a little faster. Maria got to eat a meat lovers pizza for dinner. I am a little jealous to say the least. Well hope all is well and tell your friends to keep in touch.
